Sadness

My heart breaks for two little girls who lost their lives this week.

The first little girl was 3 years old and the same age as my younger daughter, Sarah. Her step-father beat her to death over a potty training accident (click here to read more). There was no reason for this and BOTH of her parents deserve the death penalty (her mother was present during the beating and did nothing to stop it). My prayers are with this little girl. I know God is protecting her now.

The second little girl was 5-year old Maria Chapman, daughter of Steven Curtis Chapman. She was killed by an oncoming car while playing in her driveway (click here for more info). So unbelievably tragic. Maria was adopted in China and is the same age as my older daughter, Katie. My heart just breaks for their whole family and my prayers are with all of them.

I find myself spending more time hugging my daughters this week (Katie is my little snuggle bunny, but Sarah is usually too busy for hugs). I hope everyone else does the same.
