Sarah's Finding Ad

I contacted http://www.research-china.org/ a few weeks ago to ask them to search for Sarah's finding ad. Today I got a copy of the ad, shown above. Her ad is in the second column, 3rd from the bottom. Finding ads, more formally known as abandonment notices, are placed by the orphanages in local and/or provincial newspapers after the child has been abandoned in an effort to locate the child's family members. In 1999, when the ads began appearing, they were text lines that, in some cases, included a brief description of the child or what he or she was wearing when found. These are known simply as "text ads." In 2003, many provinces began running pictures of the child with the text description. These are called "photo ads." Sometimes these ads are in color; sometimes black and white. Sarah's ad says the following: "Wan Jin Sui, a girl, birth date 9/27/2004. On 11/10/2004 she was found at the gate of the Civil Affairs Bureau of County. She was partly chubby and she has a cleft lip."
